The World Is Outraged! Why?

The recent and continued public school slayings have sent a shock wave of fear through the school systems across the United States. Families in America are outraged and want to know the underlying reasons for the senseless massacre of innocent elementary and high school students. They fear for their children’s safety. If they earnestly reflected and contemplated the state of our society for a moment, they would see the deterioration of family values, the moral degradation prevalent in our society, as well as the freedom and the “so-called” rights that are now being advocated for children at an early age, we truly begin to understand how these gut-wrenching atrocities could occur. The countless hours of “meditation” in front of video screens with ongoing violence, endless pounding of rock music that takes over the spirit, and the opportunity to witness tens of thousands of murders and other violent crimes without having to leave the comfort of our television sets, just begins to scratch the surface of providing real answers to the recent events. Why have we come to this place in society and specifically our public school system of today? For me the answers to this question are very clear cut. Let us look at putting prayer back in our public schools as a starting point. Let’s take the necessary steps to develop the spiritual foundation and spiritual center of our youth. Let us develop a Christian leadership worldview perspective and identity for our youth. Ever since prayer has left our public schools, violence has escalated to an uncontrollable and concerning rate.

Colossians 3:2 – “Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17 – “Pray without ceasing.”
